FC Midtjylland of Denmark striker, Paul Ebere Onuachu has disclosed that he feels great, after netting a historic wonder goal in only his second ever match for the Super Eagles.
Sports247.ng can report that the product of FC Ebedei of Sagamu, Ogun State is still elated with his feat, as rave reviews continue trailing what has become the second fastest goal ever scored in international football.
Onuachu stated during a radio sports programme in Lagos that he was not only excited to score in his second national team appearance, but got a bigger thrill because it gave Nigeria victory over Egypt.
His wonder strike outside the box in Tuesday’s international friendly at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba was the only goal in a match that saw Nigeria beat Egypt for the first time in 19 years, much to Onuachu’s joy.
He went on to promise more efforts in days top come, as he wants to cement his place in the Eagles and help Nigeria enact better results in years to come, starting with the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
He affirmed a strong belief that the Eagles can rule Africa for the fourth time in history with a solid performance at the 2019 AFCON, especially as they now have a strong array of young players that are hungry for glory.
The towering youngster disclosed: “I feel great and happy to score my first goal for Nigeria in such a wonderful way.
”It means a lot to me to score, which also gives confidence. So, now I just have to keep working hard.”
