Kamaru, Adesanya To Gain From McGregor’s Exit

Nigeria’s duo in Ultimate Fighting Championship (UCF), Kamaru Usman and Israel Adesanya could gain massively from the shock decision by Irish icon, Conor McGregor to retire, as sports247.ng can report that it would mean one worry less for them.

Kamaru, the first fighter born in Africa to win a UFC world title, is based in Texas, USA while Adesanya fights under Australia’s flag, yet they both identify with Nigeria and always flaunt the country’s image.

However, as Adesanya and Kamaru keep aiming for UFC’s big time, they will always silently admit the threat posed in their wheel of progress by McGregor, such that his decision to quit will surely exit their camps.
This follows reports that McGregor left UFC fans stunned early Tuesday, as he announced his retirement from Multiple Martial Arts (MMA).

The 30-year-old is currently suspended from fighting by Nevada State Athletic Commission, after his outing at UFC 229, in which his defeat was overshadowed by a post-fight brawl with victor Khabib Nurmagomedov.

With his suspension ongoing, talk has been rife as to his next fight but McGregor looked to call time on his career on social media, only for fans to refuse to believe it is true.

It comes after a series of run-ins with the law for the MMA legend, including hurling a five foot tall metal sack barrow at the window of a bus full of rival fighters, smashing the window.

Posting on his Twitter page in the early hours of Tuesday, McGregor wrote: ‘Hey guys quick announcement, I’ve decided to retire from the sport formally known as ‘Mixed Martial Art’ today.

‘I wish all my old colleagues well going forward in competition. I now join my former partners on this venture, already in retirement. Proper Pina Coladas on me fellas!’
