Flag Football Showtime Summer Series: Oseto Waguan Eyes Flag Football League Title With Warriors

A female player in the coed squad of Warriors flag football team, Oseto Waguan is keeping her eyes fully focused on how to win this year’s Showtime Summer Series, and believes her team is up to the task.

This she disclosed in a chat with Sports247 after helping Warriors to victory over Panthers in a week five clash of this year’s flag football league at Showtime Arena, Lekki, Lagos, where bolts of excitement continued this past Sunday.

While Warriors got to last year’s Showtime Special Bowl final after going unbeaten in the regular season, it was a different story this time out, as they lost their first game of the ongoing campaign, but Oseto Waguan disclosed that the defeat spurred them to perform better in all subsequent games.

She went on to express delight at her side’s latest victory on another Sunday of pulsating action in the highly exciting league that is officially sanctioned by Nigerian Flag Football Federation (NFFF) and recognised by Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC).

Waguan added, “It was a great game. Though the first quarter wanted to shake us somehow, we came back stronger in the second half.

“Knowing fully that we lost our first game of this season, we had to prepare well before playing Panthers. We told ourselves, ‘We must not lose this game.’ So, it was like a must-win game for us.”

Waguan concluded by expressing her personal view about flag football, then pointed out that she and all other Warriors’ players are motivated to win this year’s Showtime Flag Football League (SFFL).

“We were determined to beat Panthers because we know that we musn’t lose two fights if we want to become champions. So, we just had to play stronger than we did in our first game.

“Personally, I have found things going well in flag football since someone introduced it to me. I felt it would be good to join and, since then, I’ve loved this sport more than I did when I was playing basketball. I really love flag football, and I’m not regretting anything. Now I want to be a champion this year,” Waguan disclosed
