The high-profile event focused on equipping Nigerian youths with practical skills, employment opportunities, and empowerment strategies to tackle unemployment and promote economic self-reliance.
In his remarks, Adeyinka underscored the untapped potential of grassroots sports as a powerful vehicle for youth development and job creation. “Sports is not just a game; it is a gateway to opportunity. Through grassroots sports, we can engage, empower, and employ thousands of Nigerian youths,” he said.
He reiterated President Tinubu’s commitment to creating a thriving ecosystem for young Nigerians, where talents—whether on the field or off it—are nurtured and transformed into meaningful careers.
The LEEP summit gathered policymakers, private sector leaders, development partners, and youth representatives to chart a new course for employment and empowerment. Adeyinka’s presence at the event highlighted the strategic role of sports in Nigeria’s national development agenda.
The SSA also hinted at upcoming grassroots initiatives that will integrate sports into broader economic empowerment schemes across the country, ensuring no young talent is left behind.
The LEEP program stands as a testament to the government’s dedication to bridging the gap between opportunity and potential, with sports emerging as a strong pillar in that mission.
