Nigerian sprinters Bamidele Ajayi and Olanrewaju Olawole, both sophomores at Eastern Michigan University, showcased their potential with impressive, wind-aided personal bests in the men’s 200m event at the 44 Farms Team Invitational held in Texas.

Competing among a strong field, Ajayi clocked a time of 21.40s (+2.3 m/s) to finish 6th in Heat 6, while Olawole followed closely with 21.59s (+2.2 m/s) for 5th place in Heat 5. Though the tailwind exceeded the legal limit for record purposes, both performances represent significant improvements and mark their best collegiate times to date under any conditions.
The windy times not only reflect their growing form this season but also add to the positive momentum for Eastern Michigan’s track program, with both athletes steadily improving in their events.
Ajayi and Olawole, proudly flying the Nigerian flag, have been building a strong presence in the U.S. collegiate circuit, and their progress continues to attract attention back home and among international track followers.
