Host nation Egypt leads Group A, which also features Zambia, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Tanzania.
Group C comprises defending champions Senegal, West African powerhouse Ghana, DR Congo, and the Central African Republic.
According to the competition format, the top two teams from each group will advance to the quarter-finals, along with the two best third-placed teams across the three groups.
The four semi-finalists from the tournament will earn automatic qualification for the 2025 FIFA U20 World Cup.
The tournament is set to kick off on 27 April 2025 and will run until 18 May 2025, with matches scheduled to take place across various cities in Egypt.
It is worth recalling that Nigeria was initially drawn in the same group with Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa when Côte d’Ivoire was designated as the original host.
However, following Côte d’Ivoire’s withdrawal from hosting duties, CAF opted for a fresh draw to reflect Egypt’s acceptance to step in as the new host.
