The time puts her within touching distance of her personal best of 53.51s, signaling a strong early-season form.

Favour’s performance lit up the track as she led from the front and held off a determined challenge from compatriot Queen Usunobun, a freshman at Hinds Community College.

Usunobun clocked a personal college best of 53.82s to secure second place, a significant improvement from her season-opening 54.67s two weeks ago.

Both athletes demonstrated the growing depth in Nigeria’s women’s 400m, with their performances reflecting strong preparation and potential ahead of a busy athletics calendar.

With the track season gaining momentum, Onya Favour and Usunobun will be ones to watch as they continue their push for faster times and international recognition.
