The Nigeria Pillar of Sports, Chief Donatus Agu Ejidike, J.P., has described the Sportsville Special Award programme as a valid and morale-boosting initiative, praising the integrity and responsibility of its organisers.

Speaking through Prince Olayioye Shola Ajide, Chairman of the Office of the Nigeria Pillar of Sports, at the 5th edition of the event held at Eko Club, Lagos, Ejidike lauded Hon. Frank Ilaboya, MD/CEO of Sportsville Communication Services Ltd., for his visionary leadership and dedication to sports journalism and development.
Ejidike, a renowned sports philanthropist and former President of the Karate Federation of Nigeria, emphasized that the annual award serves as a catalyst to inspire greater contributions to sports advancement in Nigeria. He expressed satisfaction with the quality of awardees and the high-profile attendance, which included legends, athletes, coaches, and administrators, all welcomed with a red carpet reception.
Highlighting the credibility of the honourees, Ejidike remarked that their sports achievements speak volumes, making the recognitions well-deserved and indisputable. He also noted the award’s non-monetary motivation, driven instead by merit and dedication to the field of sports.
Reaffirming his belief in sports as a tool for national development, Ejidike called for stronger grassroots engagement to serve as a foundation for Nigeria’s sporting success.
The event honoured over 22 individuals and organizations across various categories, including veteran FIFA instructor Linus Mba, Coach Fanny Amu, Davidson Owumi, Rotimi Pedro, Terry Eguaoje, and Emmanuel Osahon.
