The first round of the 2025 Nigeria Beach Soccer League (NBSL) wrapped up on Thursday at Filin Sukuwa, Sani Abacha Bye Pass, Birnin Kebbi, with two thrilling encounters.
In the opening match, Kebbi United BSC staged a stunning comeback to defeat Jigawa Golden Star BSC 6-4. Jigawa initially held a commanding 4-1 lead, courtesy of Hamza Bagudu’s hat trick and a goal from Yusuf Kamilu.

However, they failed to maintain their advantage, allowing Kebbi United to overturn the deficit in the second and third periods. Isyaku Atiku and Muniru Aliyu both netted braces, while Zahara Black added another to secure Kebbi United’s second victory of the campaign.
Meanwhile, reigning champions Kebbi Fishers BSC continued their flawless start with a 3-1 triumph over last season’s runners-up, Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors. Taiwo Adams and Hassan Muhammed gave the hosts a two-goal cushion in the first and second periods.
Though Emeka Ogbonna reduced the deficit for the Nnewi-based side, Hamza Manga swiftly restored Kebbi Fishers’ two-goal lead.
Group Standings After Round One
Kebbi Fishers BSC sit atop Group A with a perfect nine points from three matches, five points ahead of Anambra Beach Soccer Warriors. Ibom BSC follows with three points, while Nmanko Patigi BSC remains winless.
In Group B, 2022 champions Kada BSC lead with nine points, three ahead of Kebbi United BSC. Jigawa Golden Star BSC has three points, and Niger BSC is yet to secure a point.
