Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, 10 Others Set for 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championship as WA Releases Final Entry List

Shot put athlete Chukwuebuka Enekwechi and ten other Nigerian athletes will represent Nigeria at the 2025 World Athletics Indoor Championship in Nanjing, China, from March 21 to 23, Sports247 reports.

According to the final entry list released by World Athletics, the Nigerian contingent includes Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, 400m runner Chidi Okezie, and NCAA women’s indoor high jump champion Temitope Adeshina as Nigeria will be without its track and field stars Ese Brume, Tobi Amusan, and Favour Ofili.

Others on the list are African indoor record holder in the men’s 400m, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Paris Olympic finalist Prestina Ochonogor, as well as Edidiong Udo, James Onwuka, Ifeanyi Ojeli, and Joshua Caleb.

The athletes will compete in five events: high jump, long jump, 400m, shot put, and the men’s 4x400m relay.

A total of 576 athletes from 127 countries will participate in the three-day event. Among them are 11 individual defending champions and 20 Paris 2024 Olympic medalists, making for a highly competitive field, according to World Athletics.
