Nasarawa United head coach, Salisu Yusuf, has expressed confidence that his team will avoid relegation this season following their hard-fought victory over league leaders, Remo Stars.
A lone goal from the league’s top scorer, Anas Yusuf, secured the crucial win for Nasarawa United. Speaking after the match, Yusuf praised his players and emphasized his belief in the team’s survival.

“It’s a fantastic result for us, especially considering the tight schedule leading up to this game. We had only two days to train, so we had to manage fatigue carefully,” he explained.
“Within that short time, I focused on instilling my tactical approach in the players. Our goal came from a well-executed high press, and I believe this team has great potential for growth,” he added.
Yusuf acknowledged the quality of their opponents but highlighted his team’s defensive discipline.
“We respect Remo Stars as league leaders, but if you observed closely, they couldn’t create a single clear-cut opportunity against us. That’s a credit to our defensive organization,” he noted.
The coach expressed pride in his players’ performance and reiterated his commitment to keeping the team in the league.
“My mandate is to rescue this team from relegation, and I firmly believe we can achieve that goal,” Yusuf concluded.
