As the ALARE 2025 Sports Festival for all primary schools in Ijebu drew to a close, Hon. Jamiu Akande Ekundayo, popularly known as DEEONE, visited the young athletes representing Ijebu North East to cheer them on in the finals.
DEEONE had earlier provided 50 jerseys, 25 pairs of football boots, socks, and various sponsorship incentives to ensure that Team Ijebu North East competed on an equal footing with other local governments in the division.

In his motivational address, he urged the athletes to work hard and represent their local government with pride. He emphasized the importance of self-confidence, consistency, and dedication, not just in sports but in life.
Encouraging them to strive for excellence, he reminded them that winning medals would not only bring them personal glory but also elevate the reputation of Ijebu North East.
As a token of his continued support, DEEONE assured the athletes that he would host them after the festival.
In response, the team captain, Sunday Abiodun from Epiphany Primary School, Erunwon, expressed gratitude on behalf of the contingent. He thanked DEEONE for his generosity and visit, stating that his presence had significantly boosted their morale.
The NAPSGAST Chairman, Comrade Adewunmi John Oladele (WEST), also extended his appreciation, acknowledging DEEONE’s unwavering support over the years.
He noted that without DEEONE’s encouragement and assistance, Ijebu North East might not have been able to participate in this year’s festival. With his support, the team had been able to compete at its best.
As the festival concluded, DEEONE took the time to pose for a group photograph with the athletes and officials, marking a memorable end to the event.
