As the Southwest Zonal Elimination approaches, the Osun Female Basketball Team is ramping up its preparations for the crucial tournament.
With frequent training sessions at the Osogbo Township Stadium, the team is leaving no stone unturned in its quest for success.
Guided by their experienced coach, Taiwo Ajibola Eleniyan, the squad is making steady progress as they set their sights on securing a spot at the National Sports Festival, scheduled to take place later this year in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Coach Eleniyan expressed confidence in his team’s abilities, acknowledging the strength of their competition.
“In basketball, there are no underdogs. Every team participating in the Zonal Elimination is strong, which is why we’ve intensified our preparations,” he said.
“Our main goal is to secure one of the two Southwest tickets for the National Sports Festival. The players are ready and fully committed, and I have no doubt we will achieve our objective.”
“We understand the challenge ahead, but we are prepared to give our best for Osun State. This is not a mere participation; we are heading to Ibadan with a clear mission—to earn our qualification ticket,” Coach Eleniyan affirmed.
The basketball event of the Southwest Zonal Elimination will take place at Liberty Stadium, Ibadan, from February 24 to February 28, 2025.
