Ogun FA Cup 2025 Kicks Off: Majekodunmi Warns Teams Against Complacency

As the 2025 Ogun State FA Cup begins on Wednesday, Chairman of the Ogun State Football Association and NFF Executive Board Member, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, has reminded teams of the tournament’s unpredictable nature.

Speaking ahead of the first-round fixtures at the Dipo Dina Stadium, Ijebu Ode, Majekodunmi urged teams to be fully prepared, emphasizing that upsets are a hallmark of the competition.

“The FA Cup is full of surprises, and no team is guaranteed victory,” he stated. “Any team can beat another on their day, and we’ve seen underdogs rise to the occasion time and time again.”

He cautioned against complacency, stressing that every match should be treated like a final. He also encouraged teams to uphold the values of fair play, discipline, and sportsmanship to ensure a successful and memorable tournament.

First-Round Fixtures – Wednesday, February 12

Oduduwa FC vs Grassrunner FC

Dino Sporting Club vs Patriots FC

FC Ebedei vs Imperial FC

Majekodunmi assured that all necessary arrangements have been made for a smooth and well-organized competition. The finalists will go on to represent Ogun State in the President Federation Cup.
