Governor Adeleke Flags Off Osogbo Stadium Remodelling, Unveils Sports Development Agenda

Governor Ademola Adeleke has officially launched the remodelling of Osogbo Stadium into a world-class facility while also unveiling his administration’s agenda for sports development in Osun State.

Addressing the issue of contract athletes and coaches, the governor directed an immediate review of their situation, assigning the Deputy Governor to submit a report for further action.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Sports Development, Prince Kola Adewusi, highlighted that the project includes extensive facilities such as two training pitches and specialized areas for various sports.

Describing the initiative as the start of a sporting revolution in Osun, Prince Adewusi affirmed that the state would soon be equipped to host national sports competitions. He also assured that efforts would be made to encourage athletes who had left the state to return, with the goal of positioning Osun at the forefront of Nigeria’s sports sector.

The stadium renovation is expected to be completed within 12 months.
