During a working visit by the NDSF delegation, led by its President, Alhaji Dagbo Suleiman Saka, Mallam Dikko acknowledged the challenges faced by the Federation and Special Sports in general. He pledged to address their immediate needs while working towards the overall development of deaf sports in Nigeria.

“I commend your determination and passion despite the challenges. With stronger collaboration, we can create opportunities for growth and shared prosperity,” he stated.

Emphasizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to disability inclusion, he highlighted that the administration is focused on providing opportunities for all, with a special assistant dedicated to disability matters.

Mallam Dikko revealed that the NSC has made budgetary provisions for para sports, ensuring access to essential equipment and facilities. He also encouraged the Federation to organize state-level developmental competitions and share their yearly programs with the Commission for better planning and support.

Reiterating the Commission’s dedication, he urged the Nigeria Deaf Sports Federation to consider the NSC as their home, adding that the Director-General, Hon. Bukola Olopade, has long been a strong advocate for para sports.

With this renewed commitment, the NSC aims to create a more inclusive sporting environment, empowering athletes with special needs to excel both nationally and internationally.
