Ekwe Blessing Chisalam Appointed As New COO Of Badminton Federation Of Nigeria

The Badminton Federation of Nigeria (BFN) has named Ekwe Blessing Chisalam as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO), marking a strategic move to further elevate the sport’s development in the country.

A passionate sports enthusiast and accomplished sports scientist, Ms. Blessing holds a master’s degree in sports management and has a proven track record in sports administration. Her appointment comes at a time when badminton is rapidly growing across grassroots, national, and international levels in Nigeria.

Recognizing the sport’s rising prominence, Hon. Bukola Olopade, Director General of the National Sports Commission, emphasized that the BFN must continue pushing for greater achievements in the coming years.

BFN President Francis Orbih praised Ms. Blessing’s expertise, highlighting her ability to align with the federation’s long-term vision:

“We need someone who can project badminton with a positive image and align with our dreams and aspirations. Ms. Ekwe Blessing Chisalam is highly competent, a sports scientist with a master’s degree in sports management, and understands the physiology of the sports ecosystem. Her appointment will be instrumental in driving the growth of badminton in Nigeria.”

As COO, Ms. Blessing will focus on expanding BFN’s outreach, increasing its economic appeal, enhancing programs, improving administration, and creating more competitive opportunities.

Her extensive experience in administration and sports management is expected to strengthen Nigerian badminton’s operations and align them with the broader objectives of the National Sports Commission.
