Ikpa, who got the game’s second goal with a 25th minute equaliser, after Opeyemi Ajakaye put their hosts ahead in the third minute, described it as a satisfactory result for her side, but added that their intention had been to win the matchday four fixture.
Ikpa declared, “This is not what we planned. Our plan was to win; but God knows everything, and the draw is not a bad thing. I am very, very excited to pick a point from Lagos. It’s not easy.”
Janet Ikpa also disclosed that her target of reaching the NWFL Super-6 for the first time in her career is being fully supported by her teammates, as they have all resolved not to lose any match in the regular season, and she is happy that they are still unbeaten after four games.
“No pressure in our team, because we all promised that we won’t lose any match. That will help me achieve the target that I set for myself to get to the Super-6 this season.
I’ve never played in the Super-6, and I’ve already set my target that I must get there this year. It will be possible by God’s grace. It can only be God,” Ikpa concluded philosophically.
