The meeting focused on mutual interests, particularly the assessment and optimal utilization of the vast sports assets and infrastructures owned by the NSC across the country.

Discussions also included plans to host the 55th Annual Conference of NIESV at the Velodrome of the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja.

Dikko highlighted the NSC’s commitment to ensuring the rehabilitation and modernization of critical sports infrastructures like the MKO Abiola Stadium.

He emphasized that through a combination of government initiatives and private sector collaborations, these facilities will be put to sustainable use to drive growth, development, and revenue generation.

“The NSC is determined to ensure the full rehabilitation and revamping of the MKO Abiola Stadium and other key sports infrastructures across Nigeria. This will be achieved through both government intervention and private sector partnerships,” Dikko stated.

The Velodrome, an iconic venue within the MKO Abiola Stadium, has previously hosted major events such as the NBA Annual Conference, concerts, conventions, and political party primaries.

The collaboration between the NSC and NIESV reflects a shared commitment to unlocking the potential of Nigeria’s sports infrastructure. With NIESV’s expertise in asset valuation and management, the NSC aims to ensure that these facilities contribute significantly to both sports development and the national economy.

As discussions continue, both parties expressed optimism about the outcomes, particularly in leveraging the 55th NIESV Annual Conference to highlight the NSC’s infrastructure initiatives.

Mallam Shehu Dikko’s leadership at the NSC continues to foster innovative partnerships that promote sports growth, infrastructure development, and economic sustainability across Nigeria.
