Coach Whyte Ogbonda, known for his tactical brilliance, shook things up with six strategic changes from the side that demolished Benue Queens last week.

The bold moves paid off handsomely, as debutant Cynthia Mega made an instant impact alongside standout performers Vera Samuel, Aderemi Mary, Jennifer Oliver, Florence Alexander, and Chinwe Akabike.

The match ignited in the 28th minute when Vera Samuel curled in a sensational free-kick from outside the box, marking her second goal in as many games and sending the home crowd into a frenzy.

Just as Adamawa Queens were finding their rhythm, Cynthia Mega stamped her arrival with a clinical finish in the 39th minute, doubling the Prosperity Girls’ lead and easing any tension among the Bayelsa faithful.

The second half saw Bayelsa Queens maintain their dominance, with Coach Ogbonda injecting fresh energy through a triple substitution at the 54th minute, introducing Rose Ekong, Kindness Ifeanyi, and Delight Isaac.

The relentless pressure finally bore fruit in the 80th minute when Ekong slotted home from a pinpoint cross by Ifeanyi, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 victory.

Despite the win, Coach Ogbonda expressed mixed feelings, praising the result but lamenting the missed opportunities. “We should have scored more,” he remarked, promising sharper finishing in their next outing.

Adamawa Queens’ Coach, Dadeino Heman, remained upbeat despite the loss, applauding her young, grassroots players for their resilience against a formidable Bayelsa side.

Next up, the Prosperity Girls face a high-stakes clash against Rivers Angels at the Adokiye Amesiamaka Stadium in Port Harcourt—a showdown that promises fireworks between the league’s top contenders.
