Opeyori’s Mission: Back-to-Back Gold!
Leading the charge for Team Nigeria is Anuoluwapo Opeyori, the country’s number one badminton player, who is determined to defend his singles title after last year’s golden triumph. The team, consisting of five men and five women, will compete across all categories, aiming to surpass their impressive haul of one gold, two silver, and four bronze medals from the previous edition in Cairo.
During a spirited visit to the team’s Abuja camp, Olopade assured the players of unwavering support, urging them to bring their A-game to Cameroon.
“They are the defending champions. We believe in them, we support them, and now it’s all up to them to deliver,” he said.
With the 2025 championship set to take place from February 10–16, all eyes are on Team Nigeria as they prepare to dominate the African badminton scene once again. Will Opeyori lead Nigeria to another golden triumph? The countdown is on!
