Lagos FA Cup: Vido 99 FC Edges 360 FC in Thrilling 4-3 Victory

Vido 99 FC, one of the 28 rookie teams in the Lagos FA Cup, pulled off a nail-biting 4-3 win over 360 FC at Maracana Stadium yesterday. The match was a hard-fought battle, with both teams showing great determination.

Coach Igwe Peter, the head coach of Vido 99 FC, shared his thoughts with Sports247 after the match. “We are so grateful to God and to the team, the players, and everybody who stood by us. It was a very intense game today,” he said. He explained that in the 20th minute, 360 FC put them behind 1-0, but his side fought back to level the score 1-1 before the half ended.

“In the second half, we had a penalty which we converted, and then we scored again. We were leading 3-1 and then they came back to 3-2. They came back again to 3-3, and then in the 86th minute, we scored another goal which helped us gain an advantage to 4-3,” Coach Peter explained.

He added, “It was a very intense game that we played with a very experienced side who have been in the FA League for seven years now, and this is our first entry. God has been so faithful, and the boys have been working.

We’ve won our four straight matches, and by Wednesday, we have our fifth game. I believe we’re playing with an experienced side as well. We’re shaping our team to come back strong, and I expect my players to keep our strategy, stay united, and come out victorious.”

With this victory, Vido 99 FC continues their impressive run in the tournament. The team now prepares for their next match against another experienced side on Wednesday as they aim to build on their momentum and avoid any setbacks in the competition.
