Abia Angels of Umuahia coach, Adanna Nwaneri has declared emphatically that she wants to replicate with her present club the feat of reaching the Nigerian Women Football League (NWFL) Super-6 that she achieved during her days at Heartland Queens of Owerri.
Sports247 reports that the ambitious female gaffer stated as much after snatching a goalless draw away to Heartland Queens on match day three of this season’s NWFL campaign, following which she confessed that the result was a huge relief for her.

Nwaneri added, “I feel so excited, I feel great and I am overwhelmed, because the match was so intense. The pressure was so much. Some of the players have left. Those remaining are trying, but the fans kept shouting. It was not easy to concentrate but, at the end of the day, I am happy that we came out getting a point. I’m very grateful and excited.”
Aside from having to quickly remove one of her players who appeared to be losing control due to the highly pulsating pace of the game, Coach Adanna noted that all her plans for the match went well, and she can only hope that the team would be able to consolidate on the result.
She recalled, “There was nothing more we could have added or done in that match than what we already did. We saw how the game was going, and the best thing was just to maintain the flow.
I decided to look at the players on the pitch and then made changes. Had I left Lucky till the end, she may have got a red card that would cost the team, and we wouldn’t get that little point.”
Nwaneri then turned her focus on her plans for the entire season, paramount of which she stressed is to take Abia Angels onto the NWFL Super-6, as she had done during her days as a member of the coaching crew of Heartland Queens.
“After this match with Heartland, I thank God and beat my chest that I am going to be in the Super-6. I was in the Super-6 as a coach with Heartland Queens, and I told myself when leaving that I want to do it with Abia Angels. I am working towards it, and the players are working towards it. The love and harmony that are binding us is very high. So, I know, at the end, my aim shall be achieved,” Adanna enthused.
