Exclusive: Simon Rolfes Confirms Victor Boniface Staying at Bayer Leverkusen, Returning to Training

Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, has confirmed that Nigerian striker Victor Boniface will remain with the club, following the collapse of transfer negotiations with Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr. Rolfes stated, “He is still a Bayer 04 player. Of course, there have been talks…”

Boniface had been linked with a move to Al Nassr, where he would have joined Cristiano Ronaldo. Reports suggested that the transfer fee was expected to be at least €50 million.

Earlier this week, Boniface missed a training session due to “talks about his future,” as confirmed by Bayer Leverkusen.

Bayer Leverkusen’s sporting director, Simon Rolfes, has confirmed that the club was unable to reach an agreement for Victor Boniface’s transfer, meaning the Nigerian striker will remain with the team and return to training tomorrow.

With no deal in place, he will now shift his focus back to Leverkusen’s Bundesliga and Champions League campaign.

This is a significant boost for Xabi Alonso’s squad, as Boniface has been instrumental in their strong season. His return to training reinforces Leverkusen’s ambitions as they continue their push for silverware.
