Shooting Stars Secure Sixth Straight Win with 2-0 Victory Over Nasarawa United

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan continued their dominant form in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), securing a 2-0 victory over Nasarawa United at the Lekan Salami Stadium on Wednesday. This triumph marks their sixth consecutive win while maintaining a flawless defensive record.

Tijani Kabir opened the scoring in the 14th minute, converting a well-placed cross from Ikouwem Utin. Despite Nasarawa United’s attempts to respond, 3SC’s resolute defense, led by goalkeeper Mustapha Lawal, kept them at bay.

The visitors intensified their attack in the second half, with Anas Yusuf and Qamar Adegoke coming close to equalizing. Yusuf appeared to have leveled the score in the 66th minute, but his goal was ruled out for a foul on Lawal.

Shooting Stars sealed the win in the 83rd minute when debutant Sodiq Ibrahim found the net after an assist from substitute Ekeson Okorie. Ibrahim, nicknamed Obege, nearly bagged a brace but was denied late in the game.

With this victory, 3SC now sit on 36 points and will face Plateau United in Jos for their next fixture. Meanwhile, Nasarawa United will aim to bounce back in their upcoming North Central derby against Niger Tornadoes at the Lafia City Stadium on Sunday.
