NRFF Suspends Seven Players For Disciplinary Misconduct In League Matches

The Nigeria Rugby Football Federation (NRFF) has suspended seven players from Edo and Delta Rugby Clubs for disciplinary misconduct during league matches held at Adolor College, Benin City, in the 2023/24 season.

After a comprehensive investigation, the NRFF Disciplinary Committee found the players guilty of involvement in a brawl that disrupted the matches. The decision, referenced as NRFF/NSC/FEAD/CON/VOL.1/085, underscores the Federation’s commitment to maintaining discipline and the integrity of the league.

The suspended players are:

Eselekhomwen Nelson Hope (Edo RFC)

Isidor Okafor (Delta RFC)

Christian Eleberi (Edo RFC)

Shunamite Okorie (Edo RFC)

Abovwo Imoisi (Edo RFC)

Chioma Nwankpa (Edo RFC)

Mene Augustar (Edo RFC)

Each player will serve a two-match suspension starting from the Super Six playoffs and carrying over into the 2024/25 league season. The NRFF reiterated its dedication to fostering sportsmanship and ensuring a fair, disciplined playing environment for all teams and players.
