The Edo State Football Association has announced that the draws ceremony for the 2025 FA Cup, Nigeria’s oldest football competition, will take place on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
Fred Newton Erhunmwunse, Chairman of the Edo Football Association, disclosed that the event will be held at the media centre of the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin City, commencing at 12 noon.
All participating teams have been instructed to send two representatives each to attend the ceremony, which will also mark the unveiling of Peculiar Ultimate Concern as the official sponsor of the 2025 Edo FA Cup competition.
This year’s competition has drawn a total of 24 male teams and six female teams, all set to compete for the coveted trophy.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on Wednesday, February 5, and conclude on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in line with the directives of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).
Defending champions Bendel Insurance FC and Edo Queens will be looking to retain their titles as the competition unfolds.
