The 2025 Gombe Inter-Secondary Athletic Championship is set to commence on Tuesday morning at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe, with a total of 1,118 athletes officially cleared to compete in various track and field events.
Participants will showcase their skills in events such as the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay. Field events will include the shot put, long jump, high jump, triple jump, and javelin throw.
Some athletes were disqualified during the screening process for failing to meet the set requirements.
The technical committee, in its final report released this evening, confirmed that 31 schools successfully registered and documented their participation.
Simon Ayuba, a member of the committee, described the documentation, accreditation, and physical screening process as thoroughly successful, commending the team for their diligent efforts.
