The Ijebu Ode Grammar School Old Boys Association (JOGSOBA) held a press conference at the school premises to mark the 112th Founder’s Day and announce plans for the inaugural annual reunion.
In his address, the National President of JOGSOBA, Otunba Ayokunle Bolujoko, Esq., shared a brief history of the institution. He highlighted that the school, established on January 20, 1913, was the 10th secondary school in the Southern and Northern provinces of the region later merged into Nigeria by Lord Lugard in 1914.
Otunba Ayokunle emphasized the significance of celebrating the Founder’s Day to honor the contributions of the school’s founding fathers and past students. He noted the institution’s rich history of excellence in academics, sports, and other fields.
He also announced the launch of the JOGSOBA Family Reunion, an annual event aimed at fostering social connections among alumni while enhancing individual and collective growth. The first reunion is scheduled for Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the school’s sports pavilion.
Activities for the Founder’s Day include the final session of the Literary and Debate Competition and a Career Talk, taking place today, January 20, 2025. The reunion will serve as a platform for Old Boys to strengthen their network and continue contributing to the growth of the school.
