The inaugural Cool Hopefuls Cup, a pre-season scouting tournament for Nationwide League One (NLO) teams, will take place from Monday, February 10, to Sunday, February 16, 2025, at FC Ebedei Stadium, Apele-Sagamu. The event is proudly sponsored by Ebedei Sports College.
Tunde Shamsudeen, a renowned media personality and the event coordinator, described the tournament as a platform designed to unite top teams, nurture youth football, and provide pathways for emerging talents. “The slogan, ‘Teamwork Makes the Dream Work,’ embodies the spirit of this event,” he remarked.
The competition will feature eight teams drawn from the Nationwide League One Division One and the NLO U19 Youth League, divided into two groups (Group A and Group B).
Each team will compete in a round-robin format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the semi-finals and, ultimately, the final match.
Additionally, the event will serve as a major scouting opportunity, with top talent scouts observing all 15 matches. Matches will be played on the state-of-the-art pitches at FC Ebedei Stadium and broadcast live on FC Ebedei TV.
The Cool Hopefuls Cup promises to be a highlight on the Ebedei Sports College football calendar, showcasing the best of youth talent in Nigerian football.
