The Kano State National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has launched the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) in school using sports as a vehicle, Sports247 reports.
The school based sensitization program, was led by Commander of the NDLEA in Kano CN AI Ahmad on Thursday 16th January 2025.
The program kicked off at FAAN Secondary School Kano where the commander sensitized students and staff on the dangers of drug abuse, emphasizing the importance of “catching them young.”
To make the event engaging and interactive, a Tug of War game was organized for both male and female students.
The commander then visited Army Day Girls Secondary School, where he delivered the same sensitization lecture, followed by a basketball game among the students.
The final stop was the Rochas Foundation Schools, where another sensitization program was held, culminating in a football match. To test the students’ knowledge and retention, quiz competitions were conducted in each school.
The winners received prizes sponsored by Gongoni Company Limited, the program’s sponsor.
