Honourable Babatunde Olaniyan, Chairman of Shooting Stars SC, has expressed strong confidence in the team’s readiness for the second half of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.
Speaking during an interview on BCOS TV’s Sports Update program with Tobi Ajewole, Olaniyan revealed that the club is making significant moves in the transfer market. Out of the seven new signings they planned to secure, five have already been confirmed.
“We are expecting nothing less than seven players, and we’ve already brought in five. With Utin called up to the CHAN team, we are also seeking a replacement for that position,” he stated.
Olaniyan also noted that the club’s financial health has improved significantly, enabling them to remain competitive and ambitious in their pursuit of the league title.
“Our vision is to win the league, and while every team faces challenges, we are determined to overcome them.
We will do everything within our power to push forward and remain optimistic about a stronger second half of the season,” he added.
Shooting Stars ended the first half of the season with 33 points from 19 matches and are set to resume their campaign with an away game against Kwara United in Ilorin.
With an improved squad and renewed focus, the team is well-positioned to make a serious push for the league title in the second half of the NPFL season.
