Orimoloye declared, “With the FA Cup draw done, what LaDamilare Orimoloyegosians should expect are exciting moments… beautiful moments, skills display and talent discovery. The first is about sports unity, the second is that it helps to shun crime, and the third is talent discovery.

“We can’t put up a competition of this magnitude and you won’t see a large number of athletes coming out to participate. Each club should expect 23 or 25 athletes or team players, and we have over 25, 30 clubs here.

“So, we can see the number is huge. Since we have this number out there to display, you can be sure that, out of a pool of, say over 100 players, something sensible, something huge will be coming out of it in terms of talent discovery.”

The sports guru then went into specifics to buttress how the large array of clubs in the race for the coveted trophy will also bring immense gains for other sectors of the society.
Damilare Orimoloye continued, “We can look at revenue too for all these activities. We will have petty traders, people coming to buy merchandise, jerseys and all of those stuff. It still speaks about revenue and curbing crime.

“So, for the hours of each game, for the numbers of weeks and months, let’s do the research. It’s the moment you can see guys coming from the streets as fans to cheer their team up and support their locality. That way, you will see the level of crime coming down.

“Furthermore, what we are doing as people of Lagos, we want to showcase unity, harmony, peace and togetherness. Once we come together, to watch ball and see sporting activities like this, it’s for us to also align and have a sense of belonging,” Orimoloye posited.
