The meeting emphasized the importance of domestic karate tournaments in fostering talent across the nation’s six geopolitical zones. These tournaments are expected to unearth new talent and strengthen Nigeria’s presence on the global sports stage.

Joining the discussions were two of Nigeria’s shining karate stars, Commonwealth Games bronze medalists Rita Ogene and Israel Jegede. Their presence underscored the potential for karate to inspire youth participation in sports and contribute to national unity and development.

Mallam Dikko praised the initiative, emphasizing the critical role of grassroots programs in identifying and nurturing young athletes, while Agara expressed optimism about the collaboration’s ability to elevate karate’s profile in Nigeria.

The partnership between the NSC and KFN promises to lay a solid foundation for sustained growth and success in karate and other sports at the grassroots level.
