The Armwrestling Federation of Africa (AFA) has officially announced Nigeria as the host nation for the 14th edition of the Africa Armwrestling Championship.

The tournament is scheduled to take place from July 22 to July 28, 2025, and will bring together Armwrestling athletes and enthusiasts from across the continent.

The decision, unveiled on January 15 during a press conference in Accra, Ghana, marks a significant milestone for Nigeria as it prepares to host this prestigious event for the first time. AFA President Charles Osei Asibey highlighted the significance of the championship, stating, “This event will not only showcase the best of African Armwrestling talent but also serve as a unifying platform for the continent.

Nigeria’s bid was compelling, and we are confident the country will deliver an exceptional championship.”
