The Rivers State Ministry of Sports and the University of Port Harcourt have forged a strategic partnership to bolster the preparation of Team Rivers ahead of the 2025 National Sports Festival (NSF).
This collaboration will allow state athletes to camp and train at the University of Port Harcourt’s world-class sports facilities.
The partnership was formalized during a ceremony held at the university on Tuesday.
Speaking at the event, the Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Barr. Chris Green, hailed the institution’s facilities as some of the finest not only in Nigeria but also across Africa.
“We are confident that this partnership will yield immense benefits, providing our athletes with the optimal environment to prepare for the National Sports Festival,” Barr. Green stated.
“It’s our firm belief that this alliance will enhance Team Rivers’ chances of achieving excellence and establishing ourselves as Nulli Secundus—second to none—among the competing states.”
The collaboration underscores Rivers State’s commitment to fostering athletic excellence and leveraging top-tier resources to ensure outstanding performance at the 2025 NSF
