Ogun State Governor Approves 2023/2024 Promotion Exercise For Over 26,000 Workers

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has granted approval for the 2023 and 2024 promotion exercises for qualified civil and public servants in the state.

A total of 26,764 workers, including junior, senior, and management staff across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs), will benefit from the exercise, which will be based solely on oral interviews.

In a statement, the Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, confirmed that the approved exercises encompass promotions, upgrades, and transfers for eligible workers across the core civil service, teaching and non-teaching staff of government schools, primary school teachers, and personnel from state-owned agencies and institutions, including the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH).

Governor Abiodun has also sanctioned the December 2024 combined confirmation/promotion tests and compulsory public service examinations for senior and junior officers. These assessments, conducted by the Bureau of Establishments and Training under the Office of the Head of Service, aim to support career advancement within the state’s workforce.

The Head of Service applauded the Governor’s consistent commitment to workers’ welfare as part of the “Building Our Future Together” initiative.

He described the promotion exercises as a testament to the Governor’s dedication to enhancing the morale, welfare, and professional growth of state employees, urging workers to remain committed to their duties.
