In a bid to reposition Nigeria’s sports industry, the National Sports Commission (NSC) has approved the reassignment of Secretary-Generals and officers to various National Sports Federations.
This strategic move is part of the leadership’s vision to transform the sector and attract greater investments.
Director of the Federation of Elite Athletes, Olumide Bamiduro, emphasized that the decision aligns with the leadership goals of NSC Chairman Alhaji Shehu Dikko and Hon. Bukola Olopade.
“The mandate is clear. We are to undertake these changes to achieve results and position the industry to attract private and corporate investments, thereby driving the growth of our sports economy,” Bamiduro explained.
The NSC issued a directive to the Federation Establishment and Appointment Department to oversee the implementation of the new postings.
The move reflects the Commission’s commitment to strengthening the functionality and performance of sports federations nationwide.
A total of 57 Secretary-Generals and five officers have been reassigned to new federations. These individuals are expected to play a critical role in advancing the Commission’s goals of fostering innovation, driving grassroots and elite sports development, and boosting economic growth through sports.
The NSC’s leadership expressed confidence that these changes would help reposition Nigerian sports for sustainable success, both locally and on the global stage.
