Iwobi Predicts Arsenal Recovery Against Rennes

Arsenal attacker, Alex Iwobi has predicted recovery for his team against Stade Rennes of France in the second leg of their Europa League last-16 fixture next week, sports247.ng reports.

Iwobi is of a view that Arsenal have another 90 minutes to revive their fortunes in the Europa League, and believes they will go into the next stage with a win at home from the return leg against Rennes in London.

Though the Super Eagles star admitted he was sad his goal on Thursday could not save his side from suffering a 3-1 loss away, he believes The Gunners have what it takes to storm back at Emirates Stadium.

Pundits are unanimous that Arsenal have an uphill task on their feet, after The Gunners crumbled against the French Ligue 1 side at Roazhon Park, but Iwobi is optimistic of overturning the deficit in the second leg.

The 22-year-old Iwobi, who is also looking forward to facing Manchester United this Sunday in the English Premier League, said he expects a big comeback against Rennes at the same arena on March 14.

Iwobi was happy that he gave The Gunners an early lead on Thursday, but is sad that Benjamin Bourigeaud leveled for Rennes, after Sokratis Papastathopoulos was sent off for a second booking.

Nacho Monreal’s own goal and Ismaila Sarr’s 88th-minute effort handed the French side the victory, much to the disdain of Iwobi, who has made 37 appearances for Arsenal this season in all competitions.
Iwobi, who now has five goals to his name this term, took to social media to reveal his thoughts, stating: “Still got another 90, we go again.”
