Vice chairman of Nigeria sole representative in the CAF Champions league, Lobi Stars, Mr Mike Idoko has expressed optimism that the team will not disappoint the country in their encounter with Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa.
Former Sunshine Stars of Akure administrator, Idoko who addressed the newsmen in Makurdi shortly before his team departed for South Africa, noted that the encounter is a make or mar one affairs and they are ready to spring up surprises on the road
According to the astute administrator, Idoko assured that Lobi will give it best shot to clinch a victory in South Africa.
“It is going to be a make or mar encounter and nothing short of victory is expected. If we can’t get that, then our best bet would be to get a draw and then come back home in our last match at home and win.
Sports247.ng rightly informed that the managementa have written a petition against Wydad Casablanca over the treatment meted to his team in Morocco, urged the Confederation of African Football to closely monitor the last two(2) group games involving his club and Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa as well as Wydad Football Club of Morrocco and Asec Mimosa of Cote’ D’Ivoir.
Idoko however added that the call became necessary following the suspicious officiating by some referees involved in the competition.
Lobi Star are presently in Johannesburg and they are placed third on the log. They would have two days training before they slug it out against Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.
