The CEO/Managing Director of Yemola Bakery in Lagos and Aba, Chijioke Nnaji has disclosed why he decided to share his products for free on the final day of matches at Achievers Cup 2024.
The youthful baker told sports247.ng that his gesture was mostly to add an innovation and a side attraction to the competition that was organised by Island All-Stars Sports Club (IASC).
He also praised the top quality of organisation and highly commendable standard seen during the month-long contest that was sponsored by Providus Bank.
Nnaji added that the exciting atmosphere seen during the final round of matches on Saturday provided him with a perfect forum to introduce his bread to fellow IASC members.
Nnaji noted: “Because of the exciting atmosphere here, we decided to bring our products; so that our members can know what we have to offer.
“The members are happy that the bread came to them free of charge, as we did not ask for any money from them.
“I was so delighted with what they have been doing and, since I knew they did not know this product, I decided to bring it here.
“This would help them know that it is one of them that produces it.
“Some of them have eaten it without knowing who makes it. That’s why I decided to bring it here.”
He then spoke about the benefits of being a member of IASC, which he described as the best of its kind across Nigeria and the entire West Coast of Africa, positing that they proved their status with the success of Achievers Cup 2024.
Nnaji further declared, “This is what Island All Stars can do. We are one family.
“It’s been a special competition. Well organised, well presented and the best team won it.
“Island All Stars have come of age and the type of organisation that was done during this competition was expected of them all the time.
“They cannot fall your hand. We all know what they can do, and we believe that 2025 will be a better one.”
He concluded with a look into the future and gave strong predictions about better days ahead for all members of IASC.
“Island All Stars is a club that will continue to grow and grow. It’s the best growing club in the whole of West Africa.
“Whatever they are doing is top notch. Long live Island All Stars 2008. Long live all our members,” Nnaji prayed.
