Raheem Moyinoluwa Salaudeen, a rising talent from Buruj Football Academy, has been making waves in Nigerian football.
In an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng, the gifted midfielder expressed gratitude and pride after being named in the final list of players invited to the Future Eagles camp in Abuja.
“This invitation and making the final list is an indication that hard work pays,” Salaudeen said with a bright smile.
“I want to thank the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) for encouraging us and providing a necessary platform to showcase our God-given talent. It is a thing of joy for anyone to have the opportunity to represent their country. It is not a right, but a great privilege.”
Salaudeen’s selection is part of the NFF/FIFA Technical Development Scheme aimed at nurturing elite youth players born in 2009 and 2010.
This program has been instrumental in providing opportunities to young players, with the latest camp marking the final phase before the Future Eagles take on Morocco in a two-legged friendly between December 10 and 15, 2024, in Rabat.
The 26 players invited represent the best of Nigerian youth football, chosen after a rigorous process that began with 120 players in the summer.
Salaudeen, whose talent was first noticed when he became the youngest-ever player in the Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) at just 13 in 2013, is eager to showcase his skills on the international stage.
Reflecting on the journey, Salaudeen added, “This program has taught me discipline, teamwork, and focus. I’ve dreamed of this opportunity for years, and I’m ready to give my best.”
As the Future Eagles prepare to camp at the NFF Technical Center in Abuja from December 2, Raheem Salaudeen remains a beacon of hope for Nigeria’s next generation of football stars. With a history of breaking records and exceeding expectations, his inclusion is a testament to perseverance and talent.
