Enyimba FC will confront Al Masry of Egypt on Wednesday as the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup begins, Sports247 reports.
The most successful Nigerian club sides on the continent will continue their quest to win the CAF Confederations Cup in Ismaila City of Egypt against Al Masry by 6 pm this Wednesday.

The group D encounter is one of the six matches that will be played in a group that has defending Champion Zamalek FC of Egypt and Mozambique’s Black Bull .
Enyimba FC found themselves in a group many have described as very tough due to the inclusion of two Egyptian clubs who will be fighting to pick the two quarter final tickets at stake in the group.
Enyimba is the only Nigeria team left on the continent after edging out Etoile Filante of Burkina Faso on penalties after goalless aggregate scoreline over the two legs in the second preliminary round.
Meanwhile, Elkanemi Warriors wasn’t so lucky as they got booted out of the CAF Confederation Cup in the first round of the preliminaries by Beniniose side Dadje FC.
While Remo Stars and Enugu Rangers failed to progress in the CAF Champions League, they lost out in the first and second preliminary rounds respectively.
Hence, all eyes are on Enyimba FC as the Nigeria sole bearer on the continent to have a successful campaign in order to better the country’s inter club coefficients and rankings.
” It has been intense days of working ahead of our continental match against Al Masry in Egypt. We hope for a good outing in the group stage” says coach Yemi Olanrewaju, Enyimba’s coach as he ponders on the big task ahead.
Enyimba was excused from the last weekend games of the NPFL, for maximum focus on the first match as the team landed in Egypt on Sunday for a four day acclimatising period before the 6 pm kickoff.
The Suez Stadium pitch will feel the tramps and full weight of the Elephants of Aba as they hope for a good result in their first match of the CAF Confederations Cup against Al Masry.
Enyimba FC’s second game of the series will be against Zamalek of Egypt on Sunday 8 December 2024 in Uyo before travelling to Maputo to face Black Bull FC on Sunday 15 December 2024 to wrap up the first round of matches in the group.
The reverse fixtures will take place with Enyimba hosting Black Bull before Zamalek in Egypt and host the final group game against Al Masry in Uyo.
Enyimba made history in 2023 and 2004 when they became the first Nigerian team to win the CAF Champions League and they have another chance to write another by adding the only continental trophy that is missing in their cabinet.
