The 5th edition of the Nigeria Association for Physical and Health Education, Recreation Sports, and Dance (NAPHER-SD) Awards took place at the Engineering Faculty of the Oleh Campus, Delta State University.

Renowned sports journalist Ogo Clarkson, CEO of Topsportsafrik, and Azuka Chiemeka, Head of Sports at Delta Broadcasting Service, emerged as the Best Sports Online Reporter and Best Broadcaster, respectively, for 2024.
Other notable awardees included Tosan Bob Blankson, current Coach of Rivers Angels, who won the Best Coach award, and Tony Pemu, CEO of Hide-plus, who received the Sports Personality of the Year award.
Neville Ambekederemo, Chairman of Warri Wolves, was recognized as the Best Sports Administrator, while Festus Owojero, Director-General of the Delta State Sports Commission, also received an award.
In his remarks, Mr. Godwin Odede, State Chairman of NAPHER-SD, commended the recipients, urging them to continue promoting sports. He expressed his excitement at meeting some of the awardees, whom he had only read about previously.
