2024 IHF Trophy Africa Trophy : Nigeria Beat Cameroon To Set Up Guinea Final

Nigeria defeated Cameroon 44-33 to set up a final showdown with Guinea in the IHF U18 Men’s Trophy Africa Sports247 reports.

The match which was played on Tuesday in Addis Ababa saw Nigeria overcame their Cameroonian counterpart right from the first half which ended 22-15.

The Cameroon side put up an ultra defensive shape but the Nigerian team broke the barrier to win the highly feisty encounter 44- 33 and set up a final match against Guinea today by 3pm Nigerian time .

Speaking after the match, coach Emeka Nnamani applauded his team fighting spirit against the hard playing Cameroonians and promised to defend the title and qualify for the international phase as the champion of the Africa phase will represent Africa in the Intercontinental phase .

“I am very excited that we did enough to defeat Cameroon in the semi-final.

“I want to praise the boys for doing everything humanly possible and fighting hard against Cameroon.

“Now we will make sure we do our best in the final to qualify for the intercontinental phase.” Nnamani concluded.

The winner of each Continental Phase qualifies for the InterContinental Phase of the IHF Trophy to determine the final winner.

The best Youth team in each competitive cycle will also qualify for the following Men’s Youth (U19) World Championship .
