2024CAFAWARDS: Super Eagles Shine in Nominations, as Nigerian Stars Eye Top Honors

The Super Eagles have been nominated for the prestigious National Team of the Year award at the 2024 CAF Awards, recognizing their strong performance in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Their consistent success, including a vital win against Libya, has earned them a spot among Africa’s elite national teams.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has also been shortlisted for the CAF Goalkeeper of the Year award, while forward Ademola Lookman and defensive stalwart William Troost-Ekong are in the running for the 2024 CAF Player of the Year award.

Their stellar individual contributions have been key to Nigeria’s recent triumphs.

This follows Nigeria’s impressive show at the 2023 CAF Awards, where Victor Osimhen claimed the CAF Men’s Player of the Year title after an exceptional season, while Chiamaka Nnadozie was crowned the Best Female Goalkeeper.

Asisat Oshoala also secured her fifth CAF Women’s Player of the Year award, reinforcing Nigeria’s dominance in African football.

With these new nominations, Nigeria continues its legacy of excellence at the CAF Awards, showcasing the country’s footballing talent across various categories.
