Coach Adeyemi Adedeji Anthony has promised the Flying Eagles of Nigeria a sum of one million naira if they beat Cote d’ivoire today and qualify for the Semi Final of the 2024 WAFU B U20 Men’s Football Championship going on in Togo, Sports247 reports.
The Switzerland based coach made this disclosure on Thursday morning, ( 24 October 2024) when he was a guest on a Radio Sports Show, Sports Beat on Jordan 105.5 FM monitored in Lagos.
Coach Adeyemi broke down the chances of the Flying Eagles and concluded that the team has what it takes to beat the Ivorians and qualify for the Semi Finals as they face the Junior Elephants at the Municipal Stadium in Lome Togo in the Crucial encounter.
” The Flying Eagles were not bad in the first of their game against Burkina Faso only that they could not convert the chances created while they conceded the second half to the Burkina Faso and conceded a goal through dead ball.”
” Against the Ivorians today they have what it takes, they just need to convert the chances created and I am supporting them to win the game and pick a semi final ticket, I will be given the team 1 million naira if they can beat the Junior Elephants and qualify for the Semi Final” Coach Adeyemi said.
The Flying Eagles lost their first game of the campaign 1-0 to Burkina Faso and they found themselves in a precarious situation where they needed to score two goals against the Ivorians and then win the match for them to progress.
