British Nicola Hopewell defeated Nigerian Mary Aina Abbey on Saturday to defend her Commonwealth Flyweight Title via unanimous decision, Sports247 reports.
In the bout which took place at the Skate Central,Sheffield United Kingdom, Aina Abbey lost her bid to snatch the title from home girl as the three judges scored the fight 99-89 in favour of Nicola Hopewell after both fighters took the feisty fight through the 10 rounds of two minutes each.

Making her first successful defence of the title, Hopewell took her boxing record to six victories in seven bout, with one knock out record in her favour.
Mary Aina Abbey conceded her second career defeat, in fourteen bouts with impressive 10 knockouts .
The Nigeria Police Officer, Abbey lost her other bout against French boxer Jeyssa Marcel in Nantes, France, via a controversial majority decision.
The 27 year old Nigerian pugilist, popularly known as “Iron Lady,” failed in her desire to avenge the controversial loss, however the WBF International Super Flyweight Title holder says she won’t relent in her effort to become a world champion.
