Lagos State shattered Oyo State’s impressive run in the South West Basketball League with a hard-fought 64-60 victory on Tuesday.
The match, played in Ibadan, was intense and filled with drama as Lagos recovered from an early setback, losing the first quarter 8-11.
Oyo extended their lead with a dominant 23-15 second quarter, but Lagos turned the tide in the third quarter, winning 25-14.
In the final quarter, Lagos capitalized on defensive lapses by Oyo, sealing the narrow win and securing a spot in the championship final.

Osun State also grabbed headlines with their first victory in the tournament, narrowly defeating Ogun State 79-78 in a nail-biting contest.
Despite a strong start by Osun, they struggled in the second and third quarters, allowing Ogun State to claw back into the game. However, a determined final-quarter push earned Osun a much-needed win.
Ondo State, similarly, clinched their first victory, overcoming a rocky start to beat their opponents in the final minutes of the game.
Their solid performance in the second and third quarters paved the way for a dramatic finish.
As the league heats up, Osun State will face hosts Oyo State next in a crucial encounter on Match Day 5.
