The Island All-Star Sports Club (IASC) has officially unveiled its mascot for the 2024 IASC Providus Bank Achievers Cup.
The mascot, called “The Achiever,” symbolizes unity, friendship, and peace, reflecting the spirit of the tournament that brings together teams and supporters from across the community.
The much-anticipated competition will kick off on Saturday, October 19th, at the Lagos Business School football field.
This year’s cup features four teams that will battle in a league format over six weeks, with the top team securing the title.
The opening day will see Team A CANDL (blue) take on Team D KENDORIS (green), while Team B T-GOLD (red) faces Team C PROSSY (yellow). The games are expected to be fierce, showcasing both skill and sportsmanship as each team aims for the highest points to emerge victorious.
Chief Ike Okorafor, the Director of Sports and Chairman of the Sports Management Committee of IASC Inc., expressed his excitement during an interview with Sports247.
“This year’s tournament is coming bigger and better with a lot of excitement. It’s not just about football; other sports are also part of this year’s competition. The mascot is an additional highlight for us, and each year we strive to bring more innovation.”
“We are about to announce the biggest cooperation with a leading sporting equipment manufacturer as partner soon” he added.
Fans can also look forward to streaming the matches live on Sports247Naija’s YouTube channel, allowing supporters who can’t attend in person to follow the games from anywhere.
